Description
The exhibition Victoria Eugenia focuses on the figure of Queen Victoria Eugenia and her significant role in the modernization and redefinition of the Spanish monarchy during the early decades of the 20th century. With an ambitious approach, showcasing a wide variety of artworks, documents, books, and photographs, the project centers on the years of her reign (1906–1931). It highlights different aspects of her personality and private life, as well as her institutional role and humanitarian efforts, which she carried out with an innovative perspective that surpassed that of her predecessors, elements that have remained largely unknown to Spanish society until now.
The exhibition Royal Toys brings together objects related to leisure and learning that were part of the childhood of the Spanish monarchy between the mid-19th century and the early 20th century. Reconstructing everyday life of past eras is not always easy, especially regarding private and intimate spheres. However, through photographs, letters, diaries, and preserved objects, we can explore this world and draw conclusions about how these items were used.
