Description
To celebrate the second anniversary of its opening, the Royal Collections Gallery brings back open-air cinema at the Mirador. After sunset, audiences can enjoy a series of four Spanish films related to history and monarchy, aiming to unite different forms of art in one of the most special locations in the city and offer cultural context to the collections exhibited in the Gallery.

Synopsis
1715. On his way home, Louis XIV feels a sharp pain in his leg. Fifteen days later, he is bedridden in Versailles. This marks the beginning of the slow agony of France’s greatest king, surrounded by his most faithful subjects.

Based on the memoirs of Saint-Simon and the Marquis of Dangeau, who meticulously described this agony, Serra presents a regal portrait embodied by the great Jean-Pierre Léaud.

Director: Albert Serra

Screenplay: Thierry Lounas, Albert Serra
