Description
This duo presents a programme dedicated to 19th-century Spanish music continuing the legacy of José Lidón, with a special place reserved for the Madrid composer Isabel Prota y Carmena—a Spanish composer, pianist, and writer to whom tribute is paid. Today, she is considered one of the most prominent creators of late 19th-century Spanish religious music. For decades she remained virtually forgotten, but recent years have seen significant musicological recovery of her work.
