Description
Can you imagine finding leaves, fruits, seeds and trees hidden in works of art? In this family workshop, we will explore the rooms of the Royal Collections Gallery to discover how nature is represented in paintings, tapestries and other objects, and what these elements can tell us about everyday life at the Royal Sites.
Through games and small clues, we will discover the journey of a harvest: preparing the soil, sowing, caring for the plants, waiting for them to grow and, finally, gathering their fruits. It is a fun way to look at the works with fresh eyes and to discover that, behind every tree, landscape or fruit depicted, there are also stories of life from centuries ago.
After the visit, the harvest continues in the workshop! Each family will create and decorate their own small basket using cardboard and a variety of materials. Then, using air-drying clay, participants will model leaves, fruits and seeds inspired by the elements they discovered during the visit.
An experience to look, touch and create - and to take a little piece of the Gallery's nature home with you.
