This year, the Morelia International Organ Festival (FIOM) takes a historic step forward by collaborating with Patrimonio Nacional of the Spanish Government, bringing the event to the Chapel of the Royal Palace in Madrid. This milestone strengthens the cultural ties between Mexico and Spain. During the concert, artists such as Francisco Javier López, organist of the Cathedral of Ávila, Daniel Morales, Mexican organist, and the voices of Zayra Ruiz, Mexican soprano, and Marco Moncloa, Spanish baritone, will be featured. The Baroque Orchestra of the Arturo Soria Conservatory of Madrid, conducted by Asís Márquez, will accompany the soloists in a programme that will include classical and sacred pieces. This event, in its 59th edition, underlines the power of music as a cultural bridge between the two countries, consolidating the festival as a cultural reference and following the legacy of its founder, Alfonso Vega Núñez. It is also a demonstration of the power of music to unite cultures and promote peace, just as its founder, maestro Alfonso Vega Núñez, dreamt of.
